Glo campus hits unn as flavour and others storm unn

All is now set for the Glo Campus Storm music concert scheduled to hold at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, on Friday, November 11, according to leapsview
The much talked-about Glo Campus Stormconcert has elicited much interest from students across the country who inquire about the admission requirements and locations where the event will hold.
The music concert has already been held in four institutions, namely, the University of Port Harcourt where it kicked off, the Enugu Campus of the University of Nigeria, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede and the University of Uyo where it held last Friday.
The University of Uyo event, like the others before it, was a tremendous success and pulled an unprecedented crowd including students and members of staff of the institutions and entertainment lovers from outside the school.
Leading music stars expected to perform at the UNN concert include hip hop act Runtown, Mavin Records artiste and the ‘I don’t get alert’ crooner, Korede Bello, and Glo ambassador, Chinedu Okoli, popularly called Flavour. Gordons is expected to reel out jokes as he doubles as the MC, while DJ Neptune will be the disc jockey.
Globacom said the Glo Campus Storminitiative was developed to entertain Nigerian students and also give them the opportunity of winning fantastic prizes and becoming Glo Campus ambassadors.
Nineteen other Nigerian campuses will host the 2016 edition of Glo Campus Storm.  “Students wishing to attend the concert in any of the campuses are required to recharge their Glo lines with N500 Campus Booster plan to be admitted into the show”, the statement added.

national assembly orders the track down of MMM promoters

The national assembly on Wednesday called on law enforcement agencies to track down promoters of a “questionable” investment scheme popularly known as ‘MMM.’ The lower chamber also mandated its committees on banking and currency and financial crimes to investigate the scheme. The MMM is a deposit money scheme that promises a 30 per cent interest on investment per month.
Despite its popularity amongst Nigerians of all classes, critics maintain that the business is a Ponzi scheme because its operators use money from later investors to pay earlier investors. Those behind the venture are not known to the Nigerian regulatory agencies, including the Central Bank and the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation. The business is also said not to have been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, making it difficult to identify its promoters.
Regulatory and anti-corruption agencies had earlier warned Nigerians against participating in the scheme. But lawmakers said members of a syndicate who conduct seminars to train people on how to invest in the business should be arrested.
The development followed a motion of urgent national importance raised by Akinlade Fijabi from Oyo State, who described MMM as a ‘Rob Peter to Pay Paul Scheme’. Mr. Fijabi said the operators of MMM are exploiting the economic situation of Nigerians that had left them desperate for income through any means without considering the implications. Another lawmaker from Ondo State, Bode Ayorinde, said lawmakers should be concerned because they will likely be inundated with petitions if the scheme goes burst. “When the business goes burst, it is the same House that people will flood with petitions,” Mr. Ayorinde said.
An Enugu lawmaker, Dennis Amadi, said the House should save Nigerians from themselves, because the collapse of MMM could make many commit suicide. “The House will not wait until these crooks defraud Nigerians of billions of naira or until people start committing suicide,” Mr. Amadi said speaker Yakubu Dogara ruled that the motion was adopted and urged the committee to expedite its investigation and report back to House within four weeks.

Donald Trump wins US election as Hillary Clinton gives concession speech

Donald Trump has pulled off a shock US election win after channelling Brexit style forces to defeat establishment candidate Hillary Clinton.
Clinton went into election day with a lead in the polls, but confidence in her becoming America's first female President rapidly disappeared as results started coming in.
She gave a concession speech at around 4.30pm GMT.
In a victory speech Trump dropped the vitriol of his campaign and vowed to "bind the wounds of division", but angry crowds burned flags and chanted "not our President".
